THE ODLUMS ALL IRELAND HOME BAKING CHAMPIONSHIP
RULES & CONDITIONS

Each exhibitor to bake all items using recipes found on the Odlums website and 
Odlums products must be used: Please see items below:                                                                                                                                                                                                                           
a)    10 Apple Traybake Pieces https://www.odlums.ie/recipes/apple-traybake/

N.B. All recipes can be found on the Odlum's website

  1. Items to be displayed on individual plates (3 tiered plates can be used for the smaller items) to enhance presentation and each exhibitor will be allocated their own space (trays optional) on a base 24” Square.
  2. Points will be awarded for taste, texture, appearance of baked items and presentation.
  3. The competition is confined to amateurs, with one entry per exhibitor at the final.
  4. The items must be fresh, and home baked by exhibitor.
  5. In the event of an objection and following an investigation, and if the exhibitor is deemed to be making their living from their profession, they may be disqualified.
  6. A special class will be held at each qualifying show. Two entries may qualify from these shows for the final, if judges agree that the standard is high enough. The Qualifiers from each of these shows will go forward to the final, to be held at the Tullamore Show, on Sunday August 10th.
  7. None adherence to tray sizes will deem elimination of exhibit.
  8. All items will be cut and/or sampled by the judge.
  9. Each of the successful qualifiers will receive a hamper containing Odlums products, on appearance at the final.
  10. Certificates will be awarded to the finalists.
  11. The judge’s decisions at all stages of the competition, IS FINAL.
  12. Exhibits are displayed at owner’s risk.
  13. These rules should be read in conjunction with the Irish Shows Association Rules.
  14. Marquee open from 7.30am on show morning and will be closed for judging at 10am sharp. Marquee will open to the public at 12 noon and exhibits may not be removed before 5.00pm.

Entry Fee: To Qualifying Shows £3, Final €6
Prizes: 1st €300 + Trophy, Goods in kind, 2nd €200 plus Goods in kind, Prize; 3rd €100 plus goods in kind Prize; 4th €60; 5th €60; 6th €60; 7th €60; 8th €60
Final at Tullamore Show & AIB National Livestock Show on Sunday 10th August 2025

 

The Society will not be responsible for any damage to or loss of the Exhibits in this Marquee. 

All Vegetables, Flowers, Plants, Floral Art, Home Baking and Jam can be displayed in the Marquee either Monday 28th July from 4-8pm or Tuesday 29th July up to 11am

All Country Crafts, Home Industries, Photography, Paintings and School children’s classes MUST be displayed on Monday 28th July from 4-8 p.m

All Entry Fees £2.00 unless otherwise stated.
Prizes: 1st £10; 2nd £6; 3rd £4 (unless otherwise stated)

 

All exhibits in these classes must be Home Made
