THE LEITRIM IRISH DRAUGHT BREEDERS CHAMPIONSHIP
RULES AND CONDITIONS

  1. This competition is open to animals, with the breed code ID, registered in The Irish Draught Horse Studbook (or a harmonised Irish Draught Studbook) with recorded breeding.
  2. One Mare and Foal may qualify at each show.
  3. Exhibitors to both the qualifier & Final must have their Mare's passport available for inspection prio to entry to the judging ring. Failure to comply with this rule will lead to immediate disqualification.
  4. Passports & Microchips should be read by a Vet at the Final.
  5. One of the judges at the qualifying show must be a qualified Irish Draught Horse Judge.
  6. Animals qualified for the final are not eligible to enter any other class at Mohill Show other than qualifying classes for other ISA finals.
  7. The Qualifying Exhibitor must fill out their own Qualifying Card at each Qualifying Show
  8. These rules should be read in conjunction with the I.S.A Rules.

ENTRY FEE: To Qualifying Show £10.To Final €20
PRIZES: 1st €500 and the Central Motors Perpetual Trophy presented by Mr Patsy Walpole: 2nd €300; 3rd €200; 4th €150; 5th €100: 6th €100; 7th upwards will receive €60 on appearance at Final.

We will be operating 7 showing rings at the same time.

NOTE - In Classes 1 to 102 no prize will be awarded in respect of any animal, which in the opinion of the Society's Honorary Veterinary Surgeons, is not sound.

THE PRICE FAMILY SUPREME IN HAND HORSE OR PONY OF THE YEAR

Clogher Valley Show will host qualifying classes for the The Price Family Supreme In-Hand Championship, NEC, Birmingham, 9th- 13th October 2024. The objective of the competition is to find the Price Family supreme light horse or pony in-hand champion of the year, irrespective of breed or type (excluding heavy horses).

The Champion horse or pony from the following classes will be eligible to compete, provided it has not already won a qualifying round in 2024.

  • Class 22 Yearling Horse Champion
  • Class 26 Two Year Old Horse Champion
  • Class 29 Three Year Old Horse Champion
  • Class 31 Young Horse Champion
  • Class 43 Overall Horse Champion
  • Class 52 Connemara In-Hand Champion
  • Class 55 M&M In-Hand Champion
  • Class 58 Show Hunter Pony Champion
  • Class 61 Welsh Pony Champion
  • Class 68 Shetland Junior Champion
  • Class 69 Shetland Senior Champion
  • Class 87 Overall Pony Champion

If the Champion has already qualified for Horse of the Year Show 2024 or is ineligible, then the Reserve Champion of that section may come forward, provided it has not already qualified and is eligible. If both Champion and Reserve Champion have already qualified for Horse of the Year Show 2024 or are ineligible then the section will not be represented in this qualifying round. Foal champions are not eligible.

In the event of a horse/pony having been awarded more than one section Championship at this show, that horse/pony will represent both/all sections and the qualification will not pass down to the Reserve Champion in the 2nd and any subsequent sections.

There will be no direct entry into The Price Family Supreme In-hand Championship Qualifier, all animals must be a section champion or reserve champion (as applicable).

Prize Money CHAMPION £100 and Horse of the Year Show Champion Rosette and Sash
RESERVE CHAMPION £50 and Horse of the Year Show Reserve Champion Rosette

All prize money will be paid out after Horse of the Year Show 2024 by Grandstand Media Limited.

Qualification will be verified by the Horse of the Year Show office.

All classes are open to Yearlings, 2 year olds, 3 year olds, Stallions, broodmares and barren mares only. Broodmares must be with foal at foot or a relevant certificate of pregnancy. Mares which have not yet foaled or that have lost their foals are eligible to enter with a relevant certificate of pregnancy for the following year.

Each section represented must consist of a minimum of two classes and a Championship.
