THE IRISH DRAUGHT COLT FOAL CHAMPIONSHIP
RULES AND CONDITIONS

  1. This competition is open to animals, with the breed code ID, registered in The Irish Draught Horse Studbook (or a harmonised Irish Draught Studbook) with recorded breeding.
  2. If the foal's passport is not to hand, the mare's passport must be ready for inspection prior to entry to the judging ring. Failure to comply with this rule will lead to immediate disqualification. Foals must be led at all times.
  3. Passports & (Microchips if applicable) should be read by a Vet at the Final.
  4. Two foals from selected shows may qualify for the final if the judges and The I.S.A. agree the standard is high enough.
  5. One of the judges at the qualifying show must be from the I D H Judges List.
  6. Foals qualified for the final are not eligible to enter any other classes at the show where the final is held.
  7. The Qualifying Exhibitor must fill out their own Qualifying Card at each Qualifying Show 
  8. These rules should be read in conjunction with the I.S.A Rules.

ENTRY FEE To Qualifying Show £10. To Final €20
Prizes: 1st €500 & Trophy. 2nd: €200, 3rd €100, 4th €100, 5th €50, 6th €50. 
Final: BALLINASLOE SHOW-SUNDAY 24th September 2023

Horses - Opening Notes

 

All entries should be on the field by 9.00a.m. for judging to commence at 9.30a.m

We will be operating 7 showing rings at the same time.

RING 1: BROOD MARES AND FOALS, R.I.D HORSES, HORSES YOUNG STOCK &
             MIXED ABILITIES RIDING
RING 2: CONNEMARA PONIES IN-HAND; PONIES IN-HAND AND SHETLAND PONIES
RING 3: RIDDEN PONIES & CONNEMARA RIDDEN PONIES
RING 4: RIDDEN HORSES
RING 5: WORKING HUNTER HORSES (Judging commencing @10.30 SHARP)
RING 6: FAMILY PONY (Judging commencing @ 10AM SHARP)
RING 7: WORKING HUNTER PONIES (Judging commencing @ 10AM SHARP)

NOTE - In Classes 1 to 95 no prize will be awarded in respect of any animal, which in the opinion of the Society's Honorary Veterinary Surgeons, is not sound.

ENTRY FEE TO ALL HORSE AND PONY CLASSES £10.00 (unless otherwise stated)
ENTRY FEE TO ISA QUALIFIERS £10.00/€10
PRIZES IN HORSE & PONY CLASSES 1st Prize: £25; 2nd Prize: £15; 3rd Prize: £10, (unless otherwise stated).

In the Event of Insuffient Entries Classes May be Suitably Amalgamated
